Ooh, here we go again / another love's end and you break not to bend I know you felt it wrong / but it can fool you it's gone on too long if you wanted / you could stop it if you wanted / you could stop it and you know that voice inside / it's love's executioner tells you that you are wasting your time / it's love's executioner don't deserve to be happy in life / it's love's executioner and its words have invaded your mind but love's executioner lies if you could let love lead / dare courageously who knows what could be I know you're scared by this / I know you feel it nothing comes without risk if you wanted / you could stop it if you wanted / you could stop it and you know that voice inside / it's love's executioner tells you that you are wasting your time / it's love's executioner don't deserve to be happy in life / it's love's executioner and its words have invade your mind but love's executioner lies

Downhill 03:41
Do you remember the days, we'd go to Downhill Beach in May we all said the wind would cut you in two, on the sunniest days And we'd walk along, our feet in the tide and stop to admire the temple above and we'd run sometimes into the water tears in our eyes from the sting and the cold Is that the beach that I was standing on when you told us that you couldn't carry on wish the wind would blow me away one too many lies and broken hearts behind leaving us standing feet in the water on Downhill Strand Like the cliffside above us, like secrets buried in the sand you can't see what's in front of your face or the treasures you hold in your hand And we'd walk along, our feet in the tide and stop to admire the temple above and we'd run sometimes into the water tears in our eyes from the sting and the cold Is that the beach that I was standing on when you told us that you couldn't carry on wish the wind would blow me away one too many lies and broken hearts behind leaving us standing feet in the water on Downhill Strand Downhill / Downhill / Downhill / Downhill Downhill / Downhill / Downhill / Downhill Is that the beach that I was standing on when you told us that you couldn't carry on wish the wind would blow me away one too many lies and broken hearts behind leaving us standing feet in the water on Downhill leaving us standing on Downhill feet in the water on Downhill Strand

Oh Tonight 04:19
When we landed that night we were miles from the sea and Paris was burning extravegently I couldn't just stand there patiently everyone wondering when it could be Oh tonight / oh tonight / oh tonight / oh tonight The news these days comes thick and fast and opens up wounds best left in the past the cynical said it would never last but she would've said you can't think like that Oh tonight / oh tonight / oh tonight / oh tonight And oh, while we were far away a moment in time got stuck that way as we were divided may we unite to put out the darkness and bring the light Oh tonight / oh tonight / oh tonight / oh tonight You must know there's no excuse no mealy-mouthed apologies you can use when a life can be lost in the blink of an eye when you put a gun in the hands of a child Oh tonight / oh tonight / oh tonight / oh tonight And oh, while we were far away a moment in time got stuck that way as we were divided may we unite to put out the darkness and bring the light Oh tonight / oh tonight / oh tonight / oh tonight Oh tonight / oh tonight / oh tonight / oh tonight

Cross the sea, cross the sea, our hearts draw us near broken as they are, we still hold them dear forgive us, forgive us, for we couldn't face the thought of a goodbye, a final embrace So we ate our meals backwards and we slept in the day drawn closer together and further away on the tip of our tongues, the words left to say why can't you stay, why can't you stay why can't you stay, why can't you stay There's a picture of wildflowers hangs on the wall and a rose that our mother she loved most of all knowing the simplest moments make art you captured the city you held in your heart So we ate our meals backwards and we slept in the day drawn closer together and further away on the tip of our tongues, the words left to say why can't you stay, why can't you stay why can't you stay, why can't you stay To see you, to see you, but you weren't there and a sorrow to face that was something to bear but that just began what we carry each day the mark that you left when you went away So we ate our meals backwards and we slept in the day drawn closer together and further away on the tip of our tongues, the words left to say why can't you stay, why can't you stay why can't you stay, why can't you stay

Write me a postcard or sing me a song tell me you'll see me before it's too long memories needn't be melancholy with you on a mountain and me by the sea I'll bring you rocks from the beaches I walk and you'll bring me stones from the mountains you roam and soon I'll be back in your sweet arms again missing you has such a beautiful end I stood on the rocks and looked out to the sea the whole world before you impossibly big not all those who wonder you once said to me are lost you know some of them, they are just free I'll bring you rocks from the beaches I walk and you'll bring me stones from the mountains you roam and soon I'll be back in your sweet arms again missing you has such a beautiful end I'll bring you rocks from the beaches I walk and you'll bring me stones from the mountains you roam and soon I'll be back in your sweet arms again missing you has such a beautiful end

Solstice 03:55
Shortest day, the longest night another year of our lives making hay and killing time still the earth remembered me held me so tenderly kept me here where I can breathe You can't keep an old dog down and I'm tired from my roots to my crown wearing out your welcome with that voice in my head going over and over the things that said time to let go now, out with the old now best to be careful what you put to seed you get what you ask for and not what you need at the turning of the year, loss will remain make a wish to leave it here You can't keep an old dog down and I'm tired from my roots to my crown wearing out your welcome with that voice in my head going over and over the things that said time to let go now, out with the old now best to be careful what you put to seed you get what you ask for and not what you need worn down but not out this world's a flame now putting out fires is wearing on me burning so others have light left to see

I bid farewell to my old friend it is not fond I won't pretend you made your bed you wrote this end it's true So raise a glass to the past, raise a glass to the old days even though those days are gone the painful memories linger on it's true raise a glass that's what you know how to do raise a glass to that stranger the truth I might've been the one to go but you're the fool who made it so it's true My tears now dry no answer why with bridges burned we needn't try so now an overdue goodbye to you lord knows I tried to get it right but underneath it all was lies and still you will not realise it's you So raise a glass to the past, raise a glass to the old days even though those days are gone the painful memories linger on it's true raise a glass that's what you know how to do raise a glass to that stranger the truth I might've been the one to go but you're the fool who made it so it's true

Sound Goes 06:36
Sound goes where the river flows it will carry my voice to you where the land meets the sea, there the sound will be I will meet you in the echo Secrets make their way across the lake in sunset cools, my words will find you Sound goes where the river flows it will carry my voice to you where the land meets the sea, there the sound will be I will meet you in the echo Sound goes where the river flows I will wait for the waves to propagate Doubtful Sound, where the the waves have run aground Sound goes where the river flows it will carry my voice to you where the land meets the sea, there the sound will be I will meet you in the echo Sound goes where the river flows

Gather 02:24
Darling child, I know you've been lonely all this time apart has shown me Together we are strong never be alone gather you up and together we'll carry you home Even when I'm lost I know where home is It's in the shelter of each other that we live Meet us there, I'll be down by the sea we'll linger on as the light fades slowly Together we are strong never be alone gather you up and together we'll carry you home Even when I'm lost I know where home is It's in the shelter of each other that we live It's in the shelter of each other that we live

about

This is an album about loss. Some of the tracks date back to the lockdowns, when all of our lives were restricted. Others are older or newer songs about the loss of friendships and relationships, but the heart of the album deals with the loss of Richard and Mark Loudon, Emma's father and brother, who passed recently, within a year of each other.

Despite these obviously melancholy themes, we feel that the overall message of the music is ultimately an uplifting, cathartic one. We lose people, we lose friends and relationships, but we have other people that we love and together we carry each other through.
